The French Benevolent Society

The French Benevolent Society was set up in 1842 by the Comte d’Orsay.  He was shocked by the sight of French people begging in the streets of London and decided  to start a charitable association to help them.

The Society’s aim is to provide help on a permanent or temporary basis to any French national in need in the UK.
